ABOUT US
PTM Project is a design studio for landscape architecture, architecture and interior design, founded in 2008 by landscape architect Engin Aktaş. From our studios in Istanbul, Ankara and Trabzon we work across Türkiye and abroad, taking projects from the first sketch to the finished site.
Our roots are academic. PTM grew out of years of research at Karadeniz Technical University and a year of research on urban open spaces at Okayama University in Japan. That background still shapes how we work: we study a place carefully before we design it, and we design with restraint.
Today our portfolio ranges from private villas and residential developments to city parks, botanical gardens and highway landscaping. We have worked in 61 cities — a number that nods to our home, Trabzon — and designed more than 50 million m² of landscape across Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Libya and Germany. Our next step is Europe, where we are building partnerships with developers, architects and municipalities.
A CULTURE OF CRAFT
Our team brings together landscape architects, architects, interior architects and 3D specialists in one studio. Designers, modellers and site teams work side by side, so decisions made on paper hold up on site. We share knowledge openly with each other and with our clients.
DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
We believe a good place is quiet, useful and alive. We start from the land — its climate, water, soil and the people who will use it — and let the design follow. Beauty matters to us, but we measure success by how a place is used and how well it ages.
SUSTAINABILITY
We choose plants that suit the local climate, design for water efficiency and protect existing trees and habitats wherever we can. We are working to measure the carbon and biodiversity impact of our projects, so that every new park or garden leaves its site better than we found it.
